Hi there.  I’m Mark McCarthy keeping you company on the ride home weekdays from 3-8pm. on Magic 105.3... Over the past 9 years, you’ve heard me on various radio stations in Hampton Roads. Now I’m very proud to call Magic 105.3 my new home!

I live in Virginia Beach.   From lots of beach time at The Oceanfront to enjoying a night out with  friends on Shore Drive, I can't imagine being anywhere else. 

I grew up in Connecticut and went to college at Southern Connecticut State University, where I fell in love with radio. There were many days when I would ditch class to hang out and “DJ’ for hours on our college station.  My parents were not too thrilled, but I think they forgive me now…. Right Mom and Dad?  My first job in the biz was at WKCI in New Haven, CT.  If you’ve read any of Glenn Beck’s books, you know this station!  He was my boss.  Long, blonde hair… Ponytail… Seriously!!  I learned quite a bit from him.  After stops in New York City and Salt Lake City, I found my way to Hampton Roads.  I’m so lucky to call Virginia Beach my home and have the type of job that allows me to entertain my friends and neighbors every weekday afternoon.  I truly am blessed!
